From an entrepreneur's dream, a family business is born, with its roots found in the city of Guarabira, countryside of the state of Paraíba. It is considered currently as one of the greatest poultry industries of the Northeast, renowned for its excellence in quality and in the respect towards the environment and people, always obtaining astounding results throughout its history.

Guaraves began in 1977, when at the age of 20, Ivanildo Coutinho decided to invest in aviculture. On his first lot, there were 300 chicks e little resources. The then Santiago Ranch worked under the light that came from oil lamps and transported water on the "donkey's back", as recalled by the founder. The family, which had always worked with agriculture, began to envision new investments in aviculture.

Ivanildo's abilities towards business made his production grow. Being genuinely from Paraíba, the group began with the use of old warehouses, which soon made way for bigger and more modern structures.
